Community members have an opportunity to see and learn about historical planes and memorabilia from Boeing on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Historic Flight Foundation on Paine Field Aviation Day from 7:30 am to 4 pm.

The event includes a 5k/10k and a pancake breakfast starting at 7:30 am at the Historic Flight Foundation hanger.

Vanessa Dunn, visitor services manager of the event, said that this event has been going on for 22 years and is here to educate the community about the history of flight in the Puget Sound.

Event costs before the event on the QR code is $10 per person and $25 for a family pass.

There will also be many vendors and guests from the aerospace community to share their planes, jets and history about flying.

One guest is Lieutenant Madison Pennington from the Whidbey Island Naval Base Electronic Attack Squadron, or Wizards. He described the events like this as a time to share the history of these aircrafts that should never fade from generation to generation.

Many models of aircraft will be at the event from DC-3 commercial planes to Electronic Attacker F-18 Growlers and even a B-25 bomber.

This is the Johnson and Johnson Executive commercial passenger aircraft that will be at the event.

This DC-3 aircraft is still in use today.

Lieutenant Pennington said, "People just don't know about the stories of warbirds not just commercial flying."

This is Grumpy, a B-25 bomber still in use today.

The event has a historical value, but also a deeper meaning behind it.

Lieutenant Pennington said, “I love this event because the best people to educate are the kids with a sparkle in their eye when they see historical aircraft, especially when the squadron does stunts before landing at the event.”

Paine Field Aviation Day is a day to see what history reveals through aircraft.
