James Arneson was well known in the area as a founding member of the Crossroads Quartet a Barbershop Gospel Quartet. On the night of March 14, 2012, James and his son Theory were headed north on Highway 9 to the family’s hobby farm in Arlington. They were singing gospel tunes together on the radio, when out of nowhere they were hit head-on by a drunk driver. James was killed instantly and Theory suffered broken vertebrae, sternum and ribs and the heartbreak of losing his best friend.
