From the City of Everett this AM: Current Updates

Directly from the City of Everett website, here is the latest in the inclement weather updates, as of about 8:00 am this morning.

View the current weather forecast from National Weather Service and see below for additional resources. Scroll down for facility closures and changes to programs, as well as snow-safety tips (in our FAQs).

*Late start Tuesday* Due to inclement weather, most City facilities that would normally open at 8 a.m. will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Facilities that typically open after 8 a.m. may also be adjusting their hours; updates on facility closures and schedule changes will be posted on this page. Community members should call ahead if they are unsure whether a facility is opening on its normal schedule.

Please call the Public Works 24/7 dispatch line to share observations about specific locations: 425-257-8821. Extra staff have been scheduled to respond to calls.

Current operations and road conditions:

  • Crews continued to focus on priority roads while also responding to customer and transit concerns. Compact snow and ice remains on many roads and black ice is possible with continuing low temps. With higher temperatures and rain in the forecast, roads may become slushy and slick.
  • Everett Transit routes 3, 8, 29 and 70 are running ondesignated snow routes.
  • We've stockpiled enough salt and sand to last the coming week and have more on order. As of 8 p.m. Monday. Feb. 11, crews have laid 2,977 cubic yards of salt and sand and plowed 7,587 miles of streets.
  • Please clear snow from on top of and around any storm drains on your street to speed up drainage from snow melt and keep water from traveling where it's not wanted.
  • Crews will continue following the Snow and Ice Control Plan24-hours a day, focusing on major arterials and key secondary arterials that support transit operations and emergency services, as well as a number of steep residential streets that lack alternative access
  • In the event of a power outage, crews will work with PUD to plow and clear routes needed to restore power.
  • Crews also respond to closure requests from the Everett Police Department, as well as problem spots reported to the 24-hour dispatch line (425-257-8821). Additional after-hours dispatch staffing has been scheduled.
