Pet License Renewal Goes Digital in Everett

All cats and dogs six months and older are required by law to be licensed, inside of the City of Everett city limits. As of June, Everett residents inside will begin getting their annual renewal notices via email, beginning with pets whose licenses are due by June 30th of this year.

The notices, which originate from the Everett Animal Shelter, will first begin being emailed in May to pet owners who currently have their email addresses on file, just before the system is formally in place.

Per the City, the Everett Animal Shelter mails about 250 renewal notices monthly. Swapping to emailed notices should reduce the costs for print and mailing by $3,400 annually. That being said, delinquent notices will still be physically mailed to pet owners with expired licenses.

Don’t want those emails or mailers? Start here, by renewing before you’re due or overdue:

“License fees help support the animal welfare efforts of the Everett Animal Shelter, including the adoption, spay/neuter, veterinary medical treatment of shelter animals and animal control services. Pet licenses also help reunite lost or stray animals with their families when properly attached to a pet’s collar.”
