From the City of Everett: Plan Ahead! See below for the full press release.
Drivers should plan for a closure of Lowell-Larimer Road near the 7400 block, about one mile south of Lowell. The closure will begin July 9 and will remain in place for up to two weeks.
Crews will close approximately 300 feet of Lowell-Larimer Road at 7 a.m. Monday, July 9, for road and utility maintenance. A detour route onto county roads will be in place; drivers are advised to allow an additional 10 minutes of travel time to reach their destination.
During the closure, crews will conduct multiple repair and maintenance projects, including repairing a drain line, installing catch basins, stabilizing a shoulder, replacing a water main valve stand and inspecting a sewer force main. The full road closure is necessary as there is not enough room for the work to be performed with a single-lane closure due to the narrowness of the road.
The work is expected to take a minimum of one week and may last as long as two weeks, depending on conditions encountered during the work. The projects are being completed at the same time to reduce the need for multiple closures and minimize impacts to the community.
The July repair and maintenance work immediately precedes overlay work on Lowell-Larimer that is part of the City’s upcoming annual overlay project. The 7400 block of Lowell-Larimer Road will also be closed temporarily at that time to complete the overlay. This project was previously planned for April of this year but was postponed to coordinate with the overlay schedule.
