Suspect Apprehended After Fatal Hit and Run in N Everett

Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) have arrested a suspect after he struck a male pedestrian with his car and fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“At about 10:25pm on June 28th, officers and the Everett Fire Department responded to the report of a pedestrian that was struck by a car in the 2900 block of 12th Street. Witness described a white sedan fleeing the area.” The car was believed to be a Chevy Impala.

Upon arrival, first responders found an adult male with serious injuries prone in the roadway. It was later discovered that he had been in an altercation with occupants of the vehicle before it struck him and fled. Everett Fire transported the male to the Providence on Colby, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

“The Everett Police Department’s TSU responded to the scene to investigate the collision and attempt to reconstruct what occurred. After contacting witnesses and searching the area, TSU and patrol officers were able to identify the driver of the fleeing vehicle. He was contacted and arrested in the 1900 block of Baker Avenue at about 4:30am the next morning. The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Murder 2nd, Vehicular Homicide and Hit and Run-Fatality. Another male was also arrested after providing police with a false statement about the suspect’s location.”

The suspect’s vehicle was located and impounded and is pending additional searches, if EPD can secure a warrant.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
